Half bath aftermath.

Our house has the tiniest half bathroom I have ever seen. Its small size is probably what made us decide to make this our first project (baby steps!). First step was removing the outdated floral wallpaper – what a pain! Never will I EVER put up wallpaper in our house. And we are so glad we don’t have much more wallpaper to tackle. Even this small room took several sessions of wallpaper scrapping. We decided to paint the bathroom grey…honestly only because we had some extra paint and it seemed silly to buy a gallon of paint for such a tiny space. But we were actually very pleased with the way the color turned out!

The finishing touches were pretty simple: a new vanity light and some DIY iron pipe accessories. We were also able to salvage the mirror from the old medicine cabinet and build a rustic chunky frame for it out of free pallet wood.

Lastly, we had a little accident while attempting to put the toilet back. Turns out toilet bowls are very fragile and will crack if you tighten the bolts too tight (oops!). My parents were visiting for the weekend after this happened and on Saturday morning had to run out for while for an engagement photo shoot. When we came back we were surprised by a brand new toilet complete with installation and a message from my Dad “You’re good to ‘go’!” Thanks pops! Never did I think I would be so thankful and excited about a potty.
