Dining room update.

One of the things we were most excited about being homeowners is having a space to entertain, however our dining room definitely needed some updating. Like many rooms in our home, the paint colors in our dining room were warm and beige. We have been slowly giving each room a makeover to fit our style, which mostly means swapping out the beige tones for cooler colors: whites, grays, and blues. Since most of the colors we have picked are neutral grays, we decided to go with a bold color in our dining room. Especially because we would only be painting half the wall. We are very pleased the result! It is just enough of a pop of color.

First we had to tackle the red floral wallpaper below the chair rail. It took many evenings of scraping, but we are happy to announce this the FINAL wallpaper removal project in our house!

We have still not purchased new furniture for this room. So it is a collection of odds and ends.We are especially thankful for the free dining room table from our neighbors. We will eventually like a farmhouse style table, but for now we are glad to have a table at all and this one is in great shape. We will need to replace the light fixtures and add curtains and wall decor to finish the look.

The greatest part of all was finishing the paint job just in time to host our first Friendsgiving dinner!
